In 2024, the eMuseum team with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, launched a new era of museums in Ukraine – in digital space. We have developed and launched the public part of the Register of the Museum Fund of Ukraine in the test mode.
Register of museum collections plans to cover all available museum funds of Ukraine in one place.
It consists of two parts. The internal, which was engaged by Strimco, is filled by museums. The public is window of the portal for public use. It was this part that we were engaged in.
It was the dream of many researchers: a system where you can find information about the artifact and find out its location without long searches that sometimes last weeks or even months.
The portal “Museum Fund of Ukraine” not only systematizes the list of items. It is a detailed description of their origin, historical and cultural value, the state of preservation, and its location in the museum. However, researchers and museum workers are not the only category of portal users. This is first and foremost a public register that aims to involve the public in knowing the cultural heritage of Ukraine and to interest in visiting museum institutions.
Public Register that is available to everyone
Anyone who has entered the portal, can easily understand how to use it and get acquainted with the cultural heritage of Ukraine in more detail.
To begin with, you can go through quizzes that created museums based on their materials. This interactive on the site involves the test of its knowledge of museum collections and introduces it to the leading cultural institutions.
Choose the direction and category of items that are interested in or the period when they were created. Learn about the lost inheritance, which we remained as a result of the communist totalitarian regime and wars in the territory of Ukraine. Also, get acquainted with legendary artists and artists who have left a significant impact on the development of our culture and art in the world.
In addition, the portal presents all state museum institutions of Ukraine, their description, contacts, and collections. You can pick them at the location on the map, by the filter of category, or simply by entering.
The Public Register of the Museum Fund of Ukraine is a convenient and affordable portal for understanding our history and culture and expanding your knowledge.
This is a platform on which all museums are equal to the registry and do not require additional equipment or software to save data on their collections.
The main purpose of the Register remains in tune with the mission of museum institutions. The register is a necessary tool for preserving and promoting cultural heritage. It provides proper accounting and protection of museum items.
