Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have been working to preserve Ukrainian cultural heritage and oppose the Russian invaders. For this reason, our specialists are engaged in recording the destruction caused by Russia. For this cause, we went to the village of Lukashivka, Chernihiv region, where the Church of the Ascension, an outstanding monument of history and architecture, was destroyed.
The church was built in 1860 and was an important example of the architecture of that time. It is a significant cultural and historical object for the local community. The church was known for its unique architecture, which reflected local traditions and the skill of the builders of the 19th century. It served as a spiritual center for the village and was a place of gatherings and celebrations for many generations.
Preservation of cultural heritage sites, such as the Ascension Church, is essential for maintaining national identity and historical memory. Recording the destruction caused by the Russian military will help to restore these monuments in the future, and will also serve as evidence of crimes against the culture of Ukraine. A three-dimensional copy of the church will preserve its image for future generations, even if restoration in its original form is impossible. This is an important step in the fight for our culture and history.
