Perhaps every young Ukrainian dreamed of one day encountering Maria Prymachenko’s peculiar creatures in person. Let’s admit it, we did too 🤫
Thanks to us, this dream becomes a reality! We’ve “brought to life” over 20 paintings from the renowned self-taught artist’s collection at the National Museum of Decorative Arts of Ukraine. The characters from her canvases are now the main stars of Ukraine’s first unique multimedia show, “Prymachenko: Year of the Dragon.” Let’s showcase how these animals come to life and transform into fairy-tale heroes on the big screens! ✨
Pablo Picasso was captivated by Primachenko’s talent, and Marc Chagall was so enthralled by her work that he began drawing strange creatures similar to the ones depicted by Maria. So, we didn’t ponder why we are doing it. After all, Prymachenko’s work has long been recognized worldwide.
We’ve set ourselves an ambitious goal — to help preserve and popularize the creative legacy of our decorative arts superstar. Thanks to modern technologies, we’ve been able to update and make it accessible even to the youngest Ukrainians. Special thanks to the Primachenko Family Foundation. Without you, this project could not exist; you are fantastic 🫶
The musical atmosphere will be crafted by the works of the Ukrainian ethno-chaos band DakhaBrah!
📆 We eagerly await everyone on January 12 at 15:00 for the official opening at the National Museum of Decorative Arts of Ukraine, and for those who cannot make it, the multimedia show will be open until February 11 🙌
