What’s intriguing about Saksagansky’s ashtray? A Virtual Stroll through Ukrainian Parnassus

Have you ever dreamt of visiting the Kosachi family? Now, thanks to us, you can do it anytime and from anywhere on earth. We were approached by “Kyiv Digital” as part of the museum digitization project and the development of a cultural and tourist hub. The aim was to provide museums with new and interesting exhibition opportunities. Together, we developed a 3D tour of the Museum of Prominent Figures of Ukrainian Culture.

So, what have we achieved?

The Museum of Prominent Figures is a collection of memorial houses dedicated to influential individuals, showcasing their lives, creativity, and social contributions. Now, you can explore how Lysenko, Lesya Ukrainka, Saksaganskyi, Franko, and Staritskyi lived without leaving your home.

We’ve crafted an engaging quest: in each room representing a section of the exposition dedicated to famous figures, you’ll discover hints and questions that enhance your understanding of the lives and work of Ukrainian cultural figures. It also immerses you in the social context of their respective eras.

Within these virtual spaces, you’ll find 3D replicas of the museum’s most captivating exhibits, such as Lesya Ukrainka’s vases or Panas Saksagansky’s ashtray shaped like a giant fly. We’ve also digitized a wheel lyre from Mykola Lysenko’s personal collection. The composer not only collected folk songs but also studied various musical instruments.

This project has opened exciting new possibilities for the museum’s exposition, offering a modern format for accessing history. It illustrates how digital transformation can seamlessly blend the past and the present.
